HOW TO CREATE A SUSTAINABLE + ETHICAL PRODUCT

When we work with clients on product design, we help them consider how to keep their values consistent across all elements of their brand. The biggest challenge for sustainable and eco-friendly businesses, is creating packaging that is beautiful, but also ethical. Consistency is key to become a name your audience can trust, so we will always challenge any green-washing we see when our clients are creating something.

Intu respect the ancient rituals around cannabis use, and the artistry connected to it’s deeper meaning. They believe that nature can both soothe and strengthen the human soul, and strive to share that primal energy in it’s purest form. The brand must represent their carefully crafted products designed to celebrate everything the earth provides for us.

CASE STUDY

A PROCESS THAT HAS BEEN REFINED OVER MANY PROJECTS.

We have a step-by-step process that guides you through the creation of your brand identity. Starting with a deep dive into your audience, and discovering what makes you unique. We can then give creative direction on all brand touchpoints, and develop a visual language to communicate who you are, to your people.

  • In this stage of the process, we identify the heart behind your business and the lifestyle motivators of your ideal customer, allowing us to make a connection on an emotional level. By creating a visual language to tell your story, you will naturally attract your people. Those that resonate with what you are offering and who will celebrate your brand in the longterm.

When we’re designing for a product, our moodboards will also explore ways to print your packaging, how to mail out the product or display it in-store, and how an online appearance would convey how the product is IRL.

  • At this stage in the process, you’ll see a clearer idea of how your brand will look, and how these ideas developed. It’s important to understand the deeper meaning behind the visuals, and keep in mind how your audience would relate to them too. Don’t judge the concepts only on how they look, but also how well they convey the heart of your brand.

When designing a brand for a product, the most significant element beyond the product itself, is the packaging. We will consider this a part of the concept we develop, helping you think of creative ways to display, and mail out your product. Remembering that your customer has to see a consistency in what they see online, and how the product arrives in real life.

  • This is your detailed guide on how to use your brand in a sustainable, consistent, and intentional way, that honours the heart of your business. You will receive a PDF of guidelines, along with your logo + font files, and mockups as agreed.

At this stage we can also help you roll out the brand, moving on to digital concepts for website and social media and print artwork for any packaging designs we looked at in stage 2. We work with many of our clients on an ongoing basis, making sure they remain consistent as they grow.

  • If you’re creating a product, the work doesn’t end with the branding. The packaging is so important, and it’s here it can also become more difficult to stay true to your values. Don’t invest in a beautiful brand, and start to cut corners on the packaging, because your customer will see the disconnect between what they see online, and what they receive in the post.

We can help you create eco-friendly packaging that is beautiful, by not only helping you create the designs, but also liaising with the printers. Setting up files for print requires the eye of an expert (and we understand the print jargon too!), so it should always be handled by a designer to make sure you get the highest quality output.
